Liam Marquez

On April 16, 2020 Liam was born into this world and only 8 weeks later he was diagnosed with a rare cancer, Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma. He immediately had surgery to have the tumor removed and then started his aggressive chemotherapy treatment and radiation at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). In May of 2021 Liam was considered to be in remission. Sadly in September 2021 Liam’s cancer came back throughout his little body. Again, he was back at the Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia for treatment to try to save him.

In July 2023 we were told there was nothing left and to take him to enjoy the remainder of his life. On August 17, 2023 Liam took his last breathe on earth.

Throughout Liams 3.5 years he was on 14 different chemotherapies, Radiation 4 different time (30 fractions to his brain, eye, neck & cheek. Additional 10 fractions to his brain (from spreading to another spot). As well as 12 fractions of radiation to his leg and 3 different spots in his chest.). He was put under anesthesia over 100 times; endured endless blood and platelet transfusions and numerous ER visits. Yet everyday he would smile, laugh, play and want to run; no matter how sick he was; there was nothing that could stop him.

Liam loved playing with his animals and dinosaurs and was such a loving and gentle boy. He would always say he wanted to be a Police Officer when he grew up so he could catch the bad guys. With Liam, every day was a new adventure. From day 1 Liam was destined to leave his mark on this world and within only 3.5 years he most certainly left his mark that will never be forgotten.
